KO Student Places 1st in Piano Concerto Competition

Prairwaa Madden ’21 of Glastonbury won first place in the Danbury 15th Annual Student Concerto Competition and will be performing the Mendelssohn Piano Concerto No. 1 in G minor with Danbury Symphony on January 22, 2017, at 3 p.m. The concert will take place at the Visual and Performing Arts Center at WCSU 43 Lake Avenue Extension, Danbury, CT. Admission for this event is free.

But, Madden’s musical accomplishments do not end there. She won the 2016 Music Scholarship award sponsored by the First Church of Christ, Congregational in Glastonbury for talented young students who are residents of Glastonbury.  For this honor, she received a one year scholarship for his piano studies at Hartt School Community Division (HCD), University of Hartford, CT. Prairwaa recently won the CT Youth Symphony (CYS) Concerto Competition 2016-2017 and will play with the CYS in March 2017.
