After helping lead the Kingswood Oxford boys basketball team back to the NEPSAC Class B playoffs, juniors Nick Casiano and Jackson Meshanic were named to the Class B All New England Team.
A 6-3 guard, Casiano was named First Team Class B All New England.
"Nick Casiano is one of the best offensive players I have ever coached. He puts constant pressure on opposing defenses because he is always in attack mode," Kingswood Oxford boys basketball coach Garth Adams said. "His ability to attack the rim off the dribble combined with his 3 point shooting accuracy made him one of the best finishers in Class B. On the defensive end, Nick used his length and anticipation to lead our team in total steals for the season."
Casiano averaged 19.1 points this season and scored 20 or more points 12 times and scored in double figures in 24 out of 25 games. His ability to slash to the hoop was complimented by stellar outside shooting as he hit 43.7% from beyond the arc.
Meshanic was named Third Team All New England in Class B after averaging a double-double for the Wyverns this season.
"Jackson Meshanic averaged a double/double in points and rebounds for the season. From my perspective, he is the best overall post player in Class B," Adams said. "He has great hands and superb footwork. He is a consistent threat around the basket and out to 15 feet. His overall FG% is one of the highest that I can remember from any KO player. Jackson also dominated the defensive glass every game."
Meshanic scored 15.3 points per game and hauled down 13.1 rebounds per contest while shooting 62% from the field.
"I think it is a great honor, that is a great group of player and to be included with players with that level of talent is an excellent feeling," Meshanic said. "This season I improved my rebounding, assist numbers and my defense on the perimeter along with in the post was very much improved."
