Coach: Kyle Chapman is a former point guard at UCONN, current Kingswood Oxford Middle School English teacher, and head girls’ Varsity Basketball coach at Kingswood Oxford. Chapman played on Jim Calhoun’s UCONN men’s basketball team as a point guard, playing with Hall of Famer, Ray Allen and UCONN legend and former Piston, Richard Hamilton. Since college, Chapman ran and coached the basketball programs at the Boston YMCA for middle school through adults as well as coached basketball teams at various independent schools throughout the country, including KO’s Middle School boys’ team. Chapman took over the Kingswood Oxford Varsity coaching position this past winter. Chapman believes in developing basketball players at the foundation, building skills and an understanding of the game so that players are prepared for whatever level they are striving to reach.
