Week 1: June 19-23, 2017
Learn to create worlds out of words! Write your own stories based on your own life or manufactured straight from your imagination.
In the morning, you will play with the fun and power of words to create settings and descriptions using models written by published professionals or students your own age -- or by simply venturing off on your own.
In the afternoon, you will focus on the fabrication of imaginary characters placed in likely or unlikely situations, facing conflicts that may or may not seem all too real. If you prefer, you can work on a story from your own life, creating a personal essay from something that has actually happened to you.
The week will culminate with the creation of an online publication, featuring your own and your classmates' work.
For students entering grades 5-9. Minimum enrollment 6; maximum enrollment 12.
Program runs from 8:30am - 4:30pm.
Cost: $495; Early Bird Discount: $445 until March 15
