  • What is the Wyvern Fit Challenge?

    A friendly competition among eight different teams. The challenge takes a team approach to building healthier lifestyles within our KO community. The participants on each team strive to be more physically active within their own comfort zone and keep track of each day’s workout. Each team will be led by a member of our athletic department.
  • How do I log workouts and earn points for my team?

    Take a walk, go for a run, play hoops, yoga it up, choose a workout from the various choices that will be offered in the “Library of Workouts” given by your team coach. The choice is yours. Whatever you choose, the goal is to get outside, workout and move!
    • Maximum points that you can receive for your individual workouts each week is 25 points (one workout = five points)- we are encouraging two recovery days in the week, therefore if you choose to do more, you still only receive credit for five workouts
    • Post a video or pic of yourself enjoying your workout on your team site will earn you an additional 10 points. Wear your KO gear with pride for ‘brownie’ points. 20 points max per week given. (Only two video submissions per week count towards your point total)
    • Nutrition: Post the name of the dish, a list of ingredients and instructions to make it, along with a picture of yourself (or with your family!) with the finished product and earn 10 points! (Only one recipe submissions per week count towards your point total)
    • Nutrition Recipes: Use a recipe a teammate posted, then take a pic of yourself with the finished product and earn an additional five points for you and the team! (Only one classmate recipes per week count towards your point total)
  • Important to Note

    If you don’t like any of the workouts listed and you have your own workout you like to do, that is fine as well! The workouts listed are for guidance but are not meant to be restrictive. The goal is to get outside, workout and move! Whatever you do, log it with your team leader and get credit for your team.
  • How do you win?

    Everyone who moves their body and has some fun during the competition!

    Individuals: Top three point earners for each team

  • Banana Chia Seed Pudding from Serafina Squatrito

    (Double recipe)
    Two bananas (peeled)
    1 cup milk
    Dash of maple syrup (or until it’s sweet enough for you)
    1/2 cup chia seeds
    Blend everything BUT chia seeds in blender,
    Put mixture in mason jar/Tupperware with lid and add chia seeds then shake. Put in fridge overnight.
    Serve with a scoop of pudding and peanut butter (my sister likes Nutella with it!)
  • Energy Bars from Shoshana Levy

    Pulse 1 cup packed pitted dates. once pulsed mix it in a bowl with 1 1/2 cups of oats, 1/4 cup of honey, and 1/4 cup of nut butter of choice (I recommend melting the peanut butter and honey together before adding to oat mixture), combine well and then add choice of add-in (I used 1/2 cup of chocolate chips but you could use roughly 1 cup of nuts or raisins instead)

    Once mixed, put it out on a baking dish with parchment paper by pressing it down into desired shape, then chill in the fridge until it solidifies and is ready to eat! Enjoy!
  • Grilled Chicken Breast with Homemade BBQ sauce
    Sauce from Coach Batory

    In a pot simmer for 10-15 mins
    1 cup ketchup
    2T vinegar (I used apple cider vinegar)
    1T lemon juice
    2T brown sugar
    1-2T mustard
    Couple dashes (estimate depending on what you like) of onion powder, garlic powder, pepper, salt, red pepper flakes and paprika

    Add water to fit the consistency you like, stir occasionally


    Grill over hot flame 4-5mins side then baste chicken with sauce.

    Had this with some simple brown rice and spinach
  • Energy Bites from Allison Wildstein


    1 cup oats
    1/2 cup chocolate chips
    1/2 cup flax seeds
    1/2 cup peanut butter
    1/3 cup honey
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    Combine all ingredients into a bowl. Form into clumps of about 1 tablespoon and place on a baking sheet. Place in the freezer for about an hour!
