Golf – Varsity vs Hamden Hall Country Day School – Away

Varsity Golf

The Varsity Golf team travelled to the venerable New Haven Country Club for a first ever match with the Hamden Hall Hornets.

The unfamiliar terrain and slick greens exacted a heavy price as the linksters fell by a score of 201-214. Niko Rodriguez’ 21 led the way with a fine four over par 38, followed by James Amenta’19 and Henry Krieble’22, each carding a 41.  The team next travels to the wilds of the Berkshires to play another classic layout, Wyantenuck CC, in a match with the Berkshire Bears and Williston Wildcats. The matches come thick and fast at this time of year and the team hopes to develop some positive momentum heading into the second half of the season, and the silverware that awaits.
