Golf – Varsity vs Northfield Mount Hermon School – Away

The KO Varsity Golfers returned to the winner’s circle on Saturday with a 5.5-3.5 match play victory over the NMH Hoggers at a rain-soaked Crumpin-Fox Club.

 The Wyverns posted victories in the first 5 matches, losing on the last hole in each of the other individual matches, and having one of the best ball games.  Henry Krieble’21 defeated his #2 opponent 4&2, while the sophomore duo of Will Layden’20 and Karstian’20 each demolished their foes 6&5, and 4&3 in best ball.  Garth Swanson’19 lost on the last hole but helped Krieble win the best ball match, 5&4. James Amenta’19 and Jacob Balogh’21 each fell at the 18th, but still halved their collective match.  The team now heads into the Triple Crown stretch of the schedule, with the Keyes Plate up first at Yale against Hopkins.
