Varsity Girls Lacrosse

The girls varsity lacrosse team defeated the Ethel Walker Wildcats in a hard fought battle 17-15 on Thursday to push their record to 6-5 on the season.

The game was a hard fought battle throughout, however the Wyverns took control early and maintained the lead through the game even as the Wildcats went on scoring runs to get themselves back into the game. Near the end, the Wyverns were up 17-12 but gave up 3 straight fast break goals in the waining minutes to make the game seem closer than it was. Julia Lantieri ’18 led all scorers with a dominating performance of 9 goals. Nicole Genga ’19 added 3 goals, Haley Carangelo ’18 had 2 goals and 2 assists and Maitland Bailey ’18 had 2 goals. Abby Eberle ’18 had a strong performance on defense and offense scoring 1 goal and handing out 5 assists. Amelia Levine ’20 made 7 saves in net for the win.
