Lacrosse – Girls Varsity vs Gunnery School – Away

While the score does not indicate it, the game was tight in the first half as several Wyvern turnovers put them down 3-1 early. After a TO the wyverns regrouped and refocused to clean up their play, winning draws and gbs taking a 5-4 lead into the half. The second half was all Wyverns as the girls only allowed 1 goal in the second half to the gritty Highlanders. Aberle Eberle ’18 scored 4 goals and dished out 3 assists, Julia Lantieri ’18 scored 4 goals, Haley Carangelo ’18 scored a goal and had 3 assists, Nicole Genga ’19 scored 2 goals and had 1 assist,, Maitland Bailey ’18 had 1 assist. Tori Swanson ’21 and Kathryn Westerick ’20 each scored their first varsity goals of the year. Amelia Levine ’20 had 5 saves in net. The defensive group of Molly Jones ’20, Jane Dunbar ’19, Olivia Rossi ’18, Eliza Charette ’18, Noa Boyd ’18 and Maggie Eberle ’20 along with Abby Eberle, Julia Lantieri, and Mia Seymour Middies did a great job on defense which made the difference in the game.
