Leadership Lab Learns Value Driven Leadership in the Community

Leadership Lab students experienced Forge City Works on Tuesday to gain deeper insight into value-driven leadership and community development.  Forge City Works “serves people in the Hartford community who have barriers to employment by providing job training in the food and hospitality industry to help them achieve sustainable careers” and aims to “eliminate barriers through the power of food.” Students visited their training kitchen and grocery store, ate lunch at Fire by Forge, and learned more about food insecurity in our community. One of our student teams will be working on a project, pitched by Executive Director Ben DuBow, to research and identify ways to collaborate with their employment partners to create a more positive workplace culture and sustainable employment for Forge City Works trainees.
