What a difference
A Day Makes
What Sets KO Apart
At Kingswood Oxford, our people-first culture underpins all that we do. We know students — how they learn, and who they are as people, learners, athletes, and artists. And by us knowing students so well, they, in turn, know themselves. KO students flourish in unimaginable ways. See how KO infuses each day with creativity, communication, connection, and collaboration.
At KO, I've learned that I can push myself way farther than I ever thought.
How do you help a student reach their potential? It looks different for every student. You need to know them and how they operate and walk with them while they are reaching for their goals.
KO sets a high bar for the kids. There are many smart, kind, brilliant, and outstanding students. That brings everyone up, right? It's really special.
My band teacher at KO has helped elevate my playing. He gives me constructive feedback and knows he can give me some criticism to get better. He exudes positivity.
While starting thread Magazine was a very complicated process because there wasn't a blueprint to follow, it was an amazing project to work on that brought many talented and collaborative people together.
The bottom line is about caring for the students that we teach and wanting to know who they are. We see how we can challenge them and work together to make that happen.
Helping students reach their potential is about showing them that it's okay to make mistakes and stumble and that learning can be hard. But, it's also showing them that you have faith in them, believe in them, and not let them fail.
KO's community is supportive and collaborative. When I applied for Outward Bound, my friends didn't question me and say, ‘That’s not like you.’ They said, ‘Go for it! You know you can do it!’
My English teacher is always there to push me to think deeper into the text. 'How do I connect this text to the broader world and themes we see in our day-to-day lives?'
KO surrounds you with people who can help you get to that next step to improve yourself as an individual. It's a great environment for growth.
