At Kingswood Oxford, art is more than creative expression. It’s a way to think, explore, and see the world through a different lens. In our studios, students are encouraged to experiment, take creative risks, and discover their own artistic voices. Along the way, they build confidence, strengthen critical-thinking skills, and develop a deeper sense of who they are.

Our art studios are also spaces to recharge, connect, and find inspiration. Whether working on a class project, sketching during a free period, or simply enjoying others’ creative energy, students find a welcoming place to express themselves.

Through foundational courses, students learn to create, interpret, and appreciate art while developing new ways of seeing the world. Electives let students explore different media, experiment with form and style, and push creative boundaries.

Class trips to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Chelsea Galleries, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Museum of Modern Art, Real Art Ways, Wadsworth Atheneum, and a local mural tour of downtown Hartford, Charter Oak, and surrounding neighborhoods.
