Girls MS A Basketball
The MS girls A basketball team traveled in style to Hamden Hall on Wednesday, February 21 for their final game of the season.
Hamden Hall started out strong on offense and within the first few minutes they were leading 5-2. Overall, the first half was a hard fought defensive battle. The Wyverns were able to take a 16-13 lead at halftime. The Wyverns scored nine points in the third quarter and took control over this competitive basketball game. The Wyverns lead 25-15 going into the fourth quarter. The girls were able to remain composed and play their game for the duration of the second half of play. Natalia Correa ‘22 was a leader on the court, scoring 16 points for the Wyverns. Caroline Dawson ‘22 scored an impressive eleven points including one three point bucket. Lindsay Bailey ‘22 was a force to be reckoned with on defense and put up two points for the team. Kyra Dunnirvine ‘23 scored four points for the lady Wyverns. All five eighth graders: Natalia Correa ‘22, Lindsay Bailey ‘22, Caroline Dawson ‘22, Nora Eckert ‘22, and Katharine Doar ‘22 demonstrated phenomenal leadership throughout the season and closed out the final two minutes of the game with enthusiasm and passion. The final score was 33-21 in favor of KO.
