MS B Girls Basketball

In a nail-biter of a game, the girls B Basketball Team played in overtime to tie Foote School.

The KO girls played tough man to man defense, stealing the ball many times from the strong ball handlers of Foote school.  Each member of the team played with grit and grace, and each player was important to both our offense and defense and to our success.  Our team was led by Ava Leshem and Margaret Miller at the point, with Jenna Kanaan, Addisen Nicholson, and Sofia Garza posting up and making moves in the key.  Addisen Nicholson and Sofia Garza rebounded the ball with fury, never giving the Foote players any second shots.  Our top scorer was Ava Leshem with four points, followed up by Jenna Kanaan, Margaret Miller, and Sofia Garza each with two points.  Julia Sohn played in her first basketball game ever and played with determination and fierceness, adding numerous steals and scrambling for each loose ball.  Alyssa Tousignant’s drives to the basket made things happen on offense and Meredith Decker’s strong work defending the bigger players in the paint was instrumental in our success.  This team made me proud yesterday with their hustle and heart!  I am proud to coach this team this year.
