Win 60-49

The varsity girls basketball team came out strong against the wildcats of Williston Northampton in our first home game of the ’23-24 season. The wyverns took a lead in the first quarter but the wildcats fought back to close the gap to 3 at the half. The second half saw both teams come out and play fairly evenly though the wyverns maintained a 4 point lead heading into the fourth quarter. It came down to who wanted this game more and it was clear in the 4th that the wyverns wanted the win. The wyverns scored 16 points while holding the wildcats to 9 in the final eight minutes. Clutch free throw shooting in the last minute sealed the win for KO. The wyverns played with energy on both ends of the court, remained composed for the most part whenever the wildcats tried to make a run and played together throughout. It was a nice team win over a solid WNH team.
