The MS field hockey team has their first win on the road on Wednesday against Foote School. The Wyverns traveled down to New Haven arriving with no time to warm up. We dominated the game offensively but could not get it passed the Foote goalie and defense that had several amazing saves. Foote found themselves on a breakaway and took advantage with a quick shot which gave them the lead going into halftime. KO was determined to tie up the game. Midway through the first half Olivia Gordon ‘24 flicked the ball past the talented goalie for the goal. The Wyverns continued to pummel the Foote defense and goalie but could not score. Shot after shot she cleared the ball but KO players did not give up. With the ball on our defensive 40 yard line. With 30 seconds left on the clock, Jordan DiMauro ‘23 carried the ball up the right wing and crossed it. Hadley Crowther ‘25 shot the ball. The Foote goalie made a strong save and clear. Gordon ‘24 in prime aposition collected the rebound to score for the win with 1 second remaining on the clock. An incredible hard fought, inspiring game for a team that would not give up.  Allegra Kotowitz ‘23, Gordon ‘24 and Alex Arnold ‘23 kept on midfield steady. Macey Kotowitz ‘25, Zora DeRham ‘23 and Caitlin Dale ‘23 has strong defensive plays. Hadley Crowther ‘25, DiMauro ‘23 and Lia Arnold ‘25 has several strong shots to challenge the goalie. What an effort to last whistle. The MS team is back in action on the road again against Hopkins next Wednesday 10/10 at 4:30.
