Field Hockey – Girls MS vs West Hartford Youth Field Hockey – Home

MS Field Hockey

The KO Middle School Field Hockey team lost a heartbreaker in their home opener and first game on Saturday September 29 on the Hoffman turf 2-1.

The team came out strong in the first half controlling the play led by midfielders Allegra Kotowitz ‘23 and Olivia Gordon ‘24. We had several shots on goal and corner opportunities but could not convert. Alex Arnold ‘23 led the defense and stopped their fast break chances. The second half KO fell back on their heels and found themselves on defense having a hard time getting the game out of the defensive zone. After continued pressure the West Hartford team scored twice within two minutes. The offense did not let up determined to get a goal, the Wyverns found themselves back on offense and forced a corner. A beautiful play started by Hadley Crowther ‘25 to Kotowitz to Lia Arnold ‘25 who passed it to Jordan DiMauro ‘23 for the goal. There were chances in the final minutes but we could not convert. Strong play all around for our first game. Ysabel Albert ‘25 has several saves in her goalie debut and both Emma Barringer ‘24 and Chelsea O’Donnell ‘24 played great defensively. The Wyverns head to the Foote School Wednesday to play their next game.
