JV Football

The Kingswood Oxford JV football team took the field for the final time in 2025 to take on a familiar JV foe, Avon Old Farms. A tough opponent where the last two seasons both games were decided by 1 point. The Winged Beavers started strong with a 57 yard pass play, but failed to score after a great tackle on 4th down by David Hanely III ’28 . The rest of the game was all Wyverns. First the offense marched 96 yards on just 4 plays, capped off by a 29 yard TD catch and run by Landon Thomas ‘ 28. The Defense settled in not allowing a score for their 3rd shutout in 5 games this season and forcing 4 turnovers. The momentum continued in the Wyverns favor when Cade Oneglia ’28 tackled the AOF running back, forced a fumble and Nick Iyengar ’28 scooped the ball up and returned it for a defensive score to extend the lead to 16-0 early 2nd quarter. The onslaught continued with Brady Powell ’28 dicing up the AOF defense throwing for a season high 307 yards. Powell ’28 with this performance eclipsed 1000 passing yards on the JV season, a tremendous milestone! Up 24-0 Carson Patrei ’29 stepped up making an incredible acrobatic airborne interception late in the 3rd quarter. Johnathan Frimpong ’29 then caught 2 passes including a phenomenal 14 yard slant for yet another Wyvern TD. Leading 36-0, and AOF nearing the goal line the play of the day came when Trevor Prisavage ’29 read the QB eyes perfectly and stepped in front of a pass Intercepting the ball and returning it 30 yards to maintain the shutout! Joe Small ’27 finished the game running hard culminating in a 29 yard TD run on the final play from scrimmage to give the Wyverns a resounding 42-0 victory. The JV team now has a perfect 5-0 record for the year. The JV Coaches noted the progress and improvement of all players and to see contributions from so many, a truly prideful moment!
