JV Football
The Kingswood Oxford JV football team took on the Berkshire team at home on a cloudy cool fall afternoon. The JV Wyverns much like other games this season dominated from start to finish. Offense started the scoring with an 11 yard TD run by Ryan Browning ’29. Browning ’29 eclipsed the 100 yard rushing mark on the day for the 3rd time this season. The Offense continued to roll, leading 20-8 at halftime. Two more scores in the 2nd half and shut out defense made the final 36-8. Defensively the Wyverns were excellent, allowing less than 100 yard of total offense for Berkshire. Led by Landon Thomas ’28 who accounted for 8 tackles, 4 TFL and a great sack, force fumble late in the first half, the defense played with strength and speed. Also, the defensive line of Ashton Binalla ’27, Jack Morris ’28, and Amir Waterman ’28 were strong all day, forcing QB pressure , stopping the run, and 5 sacks on the day. Offensively Brady Powell’ 28 was strong through the air throwing for 216 yard, connecting with Landon Thomas ’28 for a 51 yard score, Carson Patrei ’29 on a 27 yard TD pass on a key 4th down to extend the lead to 20-0 late in the first half, and play of the game to Dave Hanley III on a 70 yard TD strike to extend the lead to 28-8 in the 3rd quarter. The JV team now 4-0 on the season will look to finish strong vs Avon Old Farms on Wednesday November 5th 2:30 pm on Hoffman Turf Field.
