Football – Boys JV vs Cheshire Academy – Home

Loss 6-30

The Kingswood Oxford JV Football Team hosted the Cheshire Academy JV squad on a beautiful fall afternoon. Cheshire’s offense was strong in the first half scoring on the first three possessions, converting on some key 4th down plays that kept drives alive. The KO offense moved the ball effectively however, were unable to drive the full field to score. Some highlight plays were made such as Colton Bowes ’27 making an incredible catch between two defenders for 21 yards on a key 4th down to move the chains.  John Sokale ’27 making a big block and Finn Richter ’26 with an excellent run of 15 yards.  Cheshire went into the half up 22-0. The Wyverns continued to battle in the 2nd half, only allowing one more score the rest of the way, including multiple tackles for a loss, and forcing 3 punts. Finn Richter ’26 was excellent in the 2nd half with some big time tackles on defense. Jackson Poulin ’26 was strong all day defensively amassing 9 tackles, 2 TFL and 1.5 Sacks. Offensively the lone score came on the final play of the game when Xavier Hernandez-Newton ’27 hauled in a fantastic one hand grab to secure a TD from 37 yards away.  The JV Football team now 2-2 will look to finish the season with a winning record when they travel to Avon Old Farms to play their squad on Thursday November 2nd at 5:00 pm
