Football – Boys Varsity vs Austin Prep – Home
Win 35-13
The Kingswood Oxford Football team hosted the Austin Prep Cougars under the lights at Hoffman Turf field on a gorgeous fall evening. It was start to finish, all Wyverns in the game. Defensively started the game with a key 4th down stop with a great tackle by Jacob Mapp ’24 forcing a turnover on downs for Austin Prep. It took the KO offense only 3 plays to travel 92 yards, capped by a powerful 13 yard TD run by Justin Morle ’25. Defensively, the Wyverns forced 3 first half turnovers which kept momentum with KO the whole half. Christian Gordon ’25 played a big role securing an interception and a fumble recovery. The scoring would continue in the first half with runs by Nathan Bowes from 14 and 5 yards out to go into halftime KO 21, Austin Prep 0. The 2nd half started with a bang, when Dominico DiNuzzo ’24, hauled in a 57 yard TD catch, breaking 4 tackles along the way to score a spectacular TD. Rhandyn Bair ’24 finished the scoring with another spectacular play making multiple defenders miss scoring on a toss play from 35 yards out. KO defense was unable to keep the shutout with two late scores from the Cougar Offense.
Offensively the run game was strong amassing more than 250 yards on the ground. The Offensive line of Nicklas Chomko ’26, Evan Tyler ’25, Julian Przecioska ’25, Lex Green ’25 and Chief Ebana’24 opened holes all night. Defensively Cam Thomas ’26 and Chief Ebana ’24 were dominant, with Thomas amassing 8 tackles with some big hits, and Ebana 2.5 sacks and 5 QB pressures. The team will look to build off this momentum next week when they host the Berkshire School on Saturday 10/7 at 2:30 pm.
