Football – Boys Varsity vs Berkshire School – Home
Varsity Football
The Kingswood Oxford Football team played host on Alumni weekend to Berkshire School on a hot sunny afternoon. Defenses on both teams were strong and limited scoring opportunities all day. Berkshire was able to strike first after multiple failed attempts and lead 7-0 in the 2nd quarter. Late into the 1st half after a great 4th down defensive tackle for a loss by Nick Chomko ’26, giving our offense strong field position, it took just two plays to find the endzone. Mike Waters Jr ’27 caught a 23 yard TD pass and Jordan Cipriano ’26 hit the PAT to even the game 7-7 to halftime. Out of the half the Wyverns started strong marching down the field relying on the 1-2 punch run game of Justin Morle ’26 and Isley Biggins ’28. It was Biggins ’28 with the big play scoring on a 21 yard run to give KO the lead 14-7. Berkshire was able to return the favor and scored on the next drive evening the game at 14 all. It was a defensive battle until Berkshire broke through late in the game with a great TD throw to go up 21-14 with 4 minutes to go in the game. The Offense was able to march down to the opponents 30 but the drive stalled after an interception and the Defense was unable to get the ball back until time expired. Overall it was a valiant effort against a tough Berkshire team. The Wyverns look to get back on track next week on the road in a non-conference game vs St Luke’s 2:30 pm kickoff.
