Football – Boys Varsity vs New Hampton School – Away
Varsity Football
The Kingswood Oxford Football Team took a long trip up to New Hampshire to play the New Hampton School on a cloudy fall afternoon. Unlike the weather, the Wyverns started hot. Jordan Cipriano ’26 hit a perfect onside kick and Cade Oneglia ’28 recovered to start the festivities. 4 players later Justin Ocasio ’26 drilled Xavier Hernandez-Newton ’27 over the middle of the field on a 4th down play and Hernandez-Newton ’27 outran the rest of the defense for a 45 yard TD score to open the game 6-0. The Defense was stout, forcing 6 punts on the day, not allowing a single completion to a WR on the day, all while accumulating 6 sacks and 18 negative yardage plays. The KO offense scored on the following 2 drives to take a commanding 20-0 lead late in the first quarter. Credit to New Hampton who fought hard scoring on a short field and defensive score to get to halftime 27-14. The Wyverns proved too strong as we came out running the ball with great strength. The 1-2 punch of Justin Morle ’26 and Cameron Thomas ’26 was excellent leading to 2 more scores extending the lead to 41-14. Credit the offensive line of Nick Chomko ’26, Ashton Binalla ’27, Teddy Ristaino ’28, Donovan Lampkin ’26, and Logan Green ’28, who paved the way for the offense to have a season high 506 yards on the day. Noah Patrei ’26 finished the game with an exclamation point, intercepting the New Hampton QB and running it back 88 yards for a Defensive TD to extend the lead 48-14. The Wyverns now 6-1 on the season head back home to play Worcester Academy on Senior Day Saturday November 1st at 12 noon.
