Football – Boys Varsity vs St. Luke’s School – Away

The Kingswood Oxford Football traveled down to New Canaan, CT to take on the St. Luke’s Storm in an out of league contest on their homecoming day.  It was a great atmosphere to play in . The defense was strong and started fast with a great interception by Justin Morle ’26 who returned it to the red zone. 3 plays later Morle ’26 started the scoring rumbling in from 10 yards out.  Credit to St. Luke’s who played tough and physical matching us score for score. Late in the first half tied 14, DJ Biggins ’26 caught a slant pass, dragged the entire defense for another 15 yards, and recovered a key fumble to keep our drive alive, which ultimately set up for a 5 yard TD run by Morle ’26 to help us go up 21-14 with seconds to play in the half.  The 2nd half KO started strong, scoring 2 more times and the defense was relentless:  forcing 3 turnovers, 10 + negative plays and stymied the Storm twice in the redzone.  Up 35-14, the final knockout blow came with a great read and throw by Justin Ocasio ’26 to Biggins ’26 in stride for a 39 yard TD.  The Storm scored late, finishing the scoring 42-21. The Wyverns return home next week for a clash on Hewett Day vs St. Paul Big Red on Saturday October 18th at 1:00 pm
