JV Football

The JV football wyverns traveled to Wilbraham, Mass and won a tough defensive battle on a sunny, yet cold, windy day. 

The Wyverns only score came on the first drive of the game as they marched down the field with excellent runs by Sanford Cloud ’25 and a great screen catch and run by Dhruv Suryadevara ’24.  On a 3rd and goal from the 3 yard line Stephen Bailey ’25 ripped a screen pass out left to Owen Bernier ’25 who fought through a defender and reached over the goalline before being tackled for the touchdown.  Corey Nguyen ’26 hit the extra point, which he is now perfect on for the year. The Wyvern defense was tough all day.  They were aggressive and dominant, amassing 17 tackles for a loss. Will Keegan ’25 led the way with 5 tackles for a loss.  Multiple trips to the redzone by the Titans of Wilbrahman Monson came up empty.  An impressive INT in the endzone by Suryadevara ’24 kept them scoreless in the first half.  A final defensive stand was needed with the game 7-6 late in the 4th quarter.  Christian Gordon ’25 leapt into the air and snatched the ball from the offensive player, sealing the victory for the wyverns.  The team will look to continue the momentum into next week as they will host the Hopkins School on Wednesday 10/26 at 2pm.
