Kingswood Middle School kicked off their home opener in dramatic fashion with a thrilling 5–4 sudden death overtime victory over Rectory. The crowd was treated to an intense, back-and-forth battle that showcased grit, teamwork, and poise under pressure.
Kingswood jumped out to an early lead with goals from Jake Schwartz, Xander Gingeleskie, and Matty Towne, setting the tone and controlling the pace through much of the game. Rectory, however, mounted a strong comeback in the second half, tying the game with just a minute left in regulation.
As overtime began, the pressure was on—but Kingswood delivered. Paxton Tarantino won the critical faceoff and quickly moved the ball to Matty Towne at X. With precision and composure, Towne executed a perfect dodge and found Jack Bellenoit on the crease, who buried the game-winning goal to seal a memorable win for the home team.
It was a total team effort and an electric way to open the season. Kingswood showed toughness, unity, and the ability to perform in the clutch—signs of a promising season ahead.
