Lacrosse – Girls Varsity vs Ethel Walker School – Away

V Girls Lacrosse

The varsity girls lacrosse team traveled to Simsbury to take on the wildcats of Ethel Walker school. The game began with the wildcats scoring the first four goals to go up 4-0 at the half. Our wyverns came back and won the third quarter 4-1 so the score heading into the last twelve minutes was 5-4 in the wildcats favor. The wyverns came back and tied the game at 5 which is how the game ended in regulation. Going into overtime it was any team’s game to take. Walkers scored with 3 seconds left in the first OT period to take the win. Our wyverns demonstrated tremendous perseverance and belief in each other to come from behind and force the game into overtime. The girls who were on the sidelines provided positive support to their teammates throughout the game. Though the end result was not in our favor close games like this give us the drive to continue working hard and improving so we end up with the win next time.
