Soccer – Boys MS vs Foote School – Home

MS Boys Soccer

On Wednesday afternoon, we hosted the Foote School on a very warm early October afternoon.

Our opponents were a talented and experienced squad, which presented a number of challenges for our young squad. Despite facing bigger and older opponents, our squad put forth a fine effort and managed to score two goals. Most importantly, we played hard, and did not get discouraged.  After falling behind 3-0, KO was able to capitalize on a direct kick just outside the left side of the box. Cooper Schumacher (Form 2) delivered a fine ball to Nico Bromley (Upper Prep), who calmly and accurately delivered a perfect strike into the left side of the goal for his first goal in what promises to be a fine KO soccer career.

Down 4-1 at the half, KO knew that a tall task awaited them in the second half. KO cut the lead in half with a goal 10 minutes into the second half, as Adam Cloud (Form 2) got behind the defense off a fine feed from Ignacio Feged (Form 2). Unfortunately, Foote tallied the final two goals of the match to earn a 6-2 victory. KO’s defenders, led by Cole Banning (Form 1), Ethan Leshem (Form 2), and Cooper Schumacher (Form 2), competed with all they had to keep Foote from scoring even more goals. KO’s goalkeeper rotation of Will Jacobs (Form 2), Finn Boyd (From 1) , and Mac Louis (Form 2) all played well in goal, as well as contributing as field players.

There are too many other players to mention specifically, but KO’s entire squad saw time in this match against a tough opponent. Next up is Renbrook on Hewett Day, our fall sports day. Game time is 10 am !
