Soccer – Boys MS vs Hopkins School – Away

We opened our season with an away match vs. Hopkins, who is always a tough opponent. The opening half saw KO control a good portion of the play as we generated a number of good scoring opportunities. However, we were unable to get one past their keeper, while they converted on one of their two scoring chances. Down 1-0 at the half, KO kept up the pressure and eventually scored on a terrific strike from 25 yards out by Mason Orm (Form 2). Within minutes KO struck again on a breakaway by Paxton Tarantino (Form 2) to put us up 2-1. Hopkins showed their resilience by scoring an equalizer shortly after. It was a back and forth affair until Raffi Rubai and Paxton Tarantino notched the 3rd and 4th goals to secure a 4-2 victory as goalkeeper Brendan Sills (Form 2) denied Hopkins . KO’s backline played well, anchored by Connor Jo (Form 2) and Nico Durao (Upper Prep)in the center. Mason Benavides (Form 2) and Jack Ritter (Form1) played well in the back and midfield respectively. It was an exciting win, and we look forward to a home match next week vs. Williston.
