Soccer – Boys MS vs Renbrook School – Away
We capped the season with a hard fought 3-1 vs. Renbrook on their Fall Sports Day on Friday afternoon. It was an ideal day for soccer, and the game proved to be every bit as competitive as we thought it would be. KO got on the board first with a nice finish by Jake Schwartz (Fm1) midway through the first half as he broke through the Renbrook back line. Renbrook got the equalizer a few minutes later as they earned a PK that was struck perfectly, giving our keeper no chance at a save. However, late in the half KO’s Anay Sahu (Fm1) took a chance with a 35 yard strike that was arguably the highlight goal of the year. This put us up 2-1 at halftime. The second saw both teams with chances to score, as we hit the post twice, once by Aaron Anstead (Fm2) and the other by Connor Morris (Fm2). The game was very much in doubt until KO earned a PK with about 15 minutes to go, as Connor Morris was taken down inside the box. His PK was saved by the Renbrook goalie, and Connor calmly finished the rebound to provide the all important insurance goal. The game ended with a 3-1 KO victory, wrapping up a 6-1 season that went by in a flash.
