MS Boys Soccer

We had our first home game this season on a wet Wednesday, though the rain held off during our match. After a scoreless first 15 minutes, KO got on the board as Pablo Gonzalez Posada (Upper Prep) notched his first career goal as a wyvern. Shortly after, Rafi Rubai (Form 2) put KO up 2-0, and to cap off the half Mason Orm (Form 2) struck a great ball from 20 yards out, similar to his goal vs. Hopkins. We knew that the first goal of the second half would be important, and fortunately it went our way as AJ Garcia (Form 1) took a shot on goal that was likely going in, and deflected off a a defender and still found the back of the net. Colin Tran (Upper Prep) and Winston Chen (Upper Prep) also scored their first KO career goals to finish the scoring in a convincing 6-0 win against the always classy and well coached Williston squad. KO’s depth was the difference in the match, as we were able to play effectively in all parts of the field. Our three goalkeepers (Brendan Sills – Form 2, Thomas Shaffer, – Upper Prep, and Henning Tostmann – Upper Prep) combined for the shutout. Next up is Har-Bur, whose soccer program is quite strong and always promises to be a great matchup.
