Soccer – Boys Varsity vs Trinity-Pawling School – Home
Varsity Boys Soccer
Our matchup against Trinity-Pawling was a tough, competitive battle that ultimately ended in a 2–1 loss, but there was a lot to be proud of in how our team competed and carried ourselves.
We started the game strong and set the tone early. In the 10th minute, senior Corey Nguyen delivered a perfectly placed corner kick that found fellow senior Tadhg Dillow, who rose above the defense and buried a header into the back of the net. It was an excellent combination between two veteran leaders, and it gave us the early 1–0 advantage.
From there, our defense stayed organized and disciplined. The boys worked hard to close down space and limit Trinity-Pawling’s chances, and we went into halftime up 1–0.
Unfortunately, early in the second half, momentum shifted. Around the 60th minute, Trinity-Pawling capitalized on a pair of tough breaks — two quick goals just a minute apart — both coming from chaotic plays in front of our net that didn’t quite bounce our way. Despite those setbacks, our players continued to battle until the final whistle, showing resilience and pride.
Although the result wasn’t what we wanted, there were plenty of positives to take away. Our seniors set the tone with strong leadership and composure, and our younger players continue to step up and embrace their roles. We’re especially excited about the progress of our freshmen, who are growing in confidence and contributing more each game. As we move forward, we’re focused on building from these experiences and continuing to develop as a team.
