Soccer – Girls JV vs Choate Rosemary Hall – Away

Loss 0-3

Despite losing a tough game to Choate, this was by far the best performance of the season for the JV girls. Choate has established themselves as one of the strongest soccer programs in New England, and their depth and quality trickles down to their JV team. However, we matched their intensity and physical play. The girls passed the ball quickly and gave Choate little room to operate. Unfortunately, one of their through balls did end up in the back of the net before the halftime whistle. The second half had back and forth action and the girls used the wide field to spring opportunities for Emma St. Clair, Camila Conte and Liv Palecki on the wings. We clearly flustered Choate and if our finishing had been a bit more clinical, we could have tied the score. Clara Tomey was deputized as a holding midfielder and performed admirably in the role. Reagan Heafey – De Angelis and Pauline Golder were again superb as center backs and they repeatedly thwarted Choate attacks. Choate ultimately did take advantage as we pushed forward for the equalizer in the latter stages of the game and added two more goals. The Hardhat Award goes to Bella Deurloo who, despite a nagging injury and some physical challenges, performed brilliantly as a wingback.
