JV Girls Soccer v Miss Porter’s

The girls JV soccer team lost a tough opening game to MPS on Tuesday 9/19 afternoon 1-0.

While the MPS girls were technically a better team, the Wyverns played with heart and never backed down. One lone mistake in the second half gave the opportunity to score and they capitalized on that mistake. Overall, the Wyverns out shot their opponent 11-8 but could not convert. Maeve McDonald ’19 made 7 saves in net and had a strong game. The defense anchored by Jane Dunbar ’19, Holly Lombardi ’18, Murphy Kearney ’20, and Brooke Seaver ’21 played well for their first game as a defensive unit. The girls look forward to building on their first game experience to grow as a team for future games.
