Soccer – Girls Varsity vs Loomis Chaffee School – Away

Varsity Girls Soccer

The KO girls soccer team traveled to Windsor to battle WWNEPSSA’s #1 team, Loomis Chaffee. KO was prepared and equal to the task, thwarting the many attacks Loomis brought forth. GK Lizzie Raccio and the defense held strong until the latter part of the first half when Loomis was able to convert on a free kick. The central midfield players, Loren Roca, Naya DeMelo, and Mackenzie Cahill were able to limit Loomis penetration centrally and start the attack often in the first half. However, Loomis was able to extend the 1-0 halftime lead within the first two minutes of the second half and was able to control play from there winning 4-0. Defenders Giuliana Fuzzard, Taylor Caldwell, Gianna Guerrera, Dalila Malz, and Nadia Silmon were outstanding the whole game, making Loomis earn their looks at the goal and GK Lizzie Raccio made 9 saves with some of the spectacular fashion. Olivia Adamowicz, Naomi Diffenderfer, and Serena Zhou were able to generate the attack on the outside and contributed to defending all over the field. Naya DeMelo and Nadia Silmon had their best games of the year, fighting the whole game both in possession and when defending. KO has a tough stretch ahead playing at Suffield Academy on Saturday and home against Cheshire Academy on Monday.
