Soccer – Girls Varsity vs Miss Porter’s School – Away

Varsity Girls Soccer

The KO girls took on WWNEPSSA Class A powerhouse Miss Porters today in Farmington. KO’s effort and intensity through the entire 80 minutes matched that of Miss Porters, making them work for every aspect of their possession. KO gave up a goal midway through the first half and trailed 1-0 at halftime. However, KO came out with some success in the second half and was able to string some passes together but could not get that final pass into the goal area for a score. Miss Porters scored an additional goal with 9 minutes left when KO was pushing forward in an effort to tie the game. KO still did not quit as Olivia Adamowicz was able to dislodge the ball from the defender and pushed the ball toward the goal but to no avail. KO came up short 2-0 but should be very proud of their efforts. Lizzie Raccio was a force in goal, making 12 saves and keeping KO in the game. The back line of Guiliana Fuzzard, Gianna Guerrera, Taylor Caldwell, and Nadia Silmon were almost impenetrable as they helped turn away opportunity after opportunity for the Miss Porters forward. Maliyah Douglas, Serena Zhou, Naya DeMelo, and Mackenzie Cahill stood out for KO. This will be a game for this young team to build on. KO hosts Williston on Saturday in hopes of getting back into the win column.
