The KO girls came out ready and took control of the game against St. Luke, dominating the first 15 minutes. Serena Zhou was able to outrace the defender after a misplayed pass and knock it in the goal for a 1-0 lead. Unfortunately, St. Luke was able to take advantage of some KO mistakes reeling off 3 consecutive goals. KO regrouped at halftime and started the second half with a barrage of shots that continued throughout the rest of the game. However, it was not meant to be as the St. Luke’s goalkeeper was able to turn away shot after shot. Despite having a 25-5 shot advantage, KO eventually fell to St. Luke 3-1. Maliyah Douglas, Loren Roca, Nadia Silmon, and Taylor Caldwell were active throughout the game.Despite the loss, the team effort was outstanding and something to build on for this young team. KO is set to play Miss Porter’s on Wednesday, one of the top teams in the WWNEPSSA.
