Soccer – Girls Varsity vs Wilbraham & Monson Academy – Away

V Girls Soccer

Girls’ Varsity Soccer opened the 2019 season with a 2-0 road win over Wilbraham & Monson Academy on September 11th.

Both teams battled through the summer like temperatures and humidity for the entire 80 minutes.  15 minutes into the second half Isabel Berckemeyer ‘21 calmly placed the ball in the back of the net after a beautifully threaded pass by Catherine Daniels ‘21.  KO kept their composure and got a final insurance goal with about 6 minutes to play. Ainsley Vaughn ‘20 took her space on the outside flank and served the perfect ball to Talia Impelluso ‘23 who volleyed it into the back of the net. Wilbraham kept playing hard until the very end, forcing Jillian Wells ‘20 to come up with a big save in the final minutes. On the day, it was a total team effort with the defense being anchored by the calm and collected play of Jamie Scarpantonio ‘20.
