Girls Varsity Soccer

The KO girls faced a very big and athletic Williston team today on their home field. Despite controlling play in the first half, KO was unable to get on the board. Loren Roca, Naomi Diffenderfer, Olivia Adamowicz, and Mackenzie Cahill did a good job controlling play in the midfield and Naya DeMelo and Maliyah Douglas pressured Williston’s defenders constantly but the score remained 0-0 at halftime. Defenders Giuliana Fuzzaed, Gianna Guerrera, Taylor Cladwell, and Nadia Silmon were outstanding in the second half as Williston gained more possession and had multiple opportunities at goal. Lizzie Raccio was exceptional in goal for the second straight game turning away 7 shots on goal in the last 25 minutes keeping KO in the game. Wiliston finally broke through the KO defense with 7 minutes left, gaining a 1-0 win. KO will try to break their 3 game losing streak Wednesday against Canterbury.
