JV Girls Squash

The KO Girls JV Squash team had a blockbuster of a match against Kent, with players up and down the ladder getting into highly contested, back-and-forth matches against their individual opponents. Graciously filling in on JV from her usual varsity position, Avery Hersh ‘24 put her best squash forward in the no. 1 spot and was sending the ball into the corners with ease, taking advantage of volleying opportunities to pressure the opponent, as well (particularly in the second game of the match, when she had a confident 11-4 win). In the no. 2 spot, Racheal Segal ‘28 was crushing her cross court drives throughout the match, and turned around after a difficult first game with an impressive shift of momentum. In the no. 4 spot, Aliza Rashid ‘27 had a commanding serve and well placed deep straight drives, putting her skills from practice into her matchplay. In the no. 7 position, Beverly Li ‘27 wielded her strong forehand as a weapon to be reckoned with on the court. After playing excellent matches in the no. 3 and no. 5 spots, Penny Peng ‘26 and Carmel Zhang ‘26 each played some extra games in the no. 8 spot as well, showcasing both their sportsmanship and their dedication to improving their game. Peng pulled off two spectacular games (11-6, 12-10) in that extra match. It was a close match across the individual contests, and the KO JV SQ team is only getting better!
