The JV Girls Squash team kicked off their season with a challenging first match away at Suffield Academy, putting forth a great effort across the board despite a 1-6 final score. The highlight of the day was an impressive victory by Delilah Mathews ’28, who clinched the team’s only win with a dominant 3-0 performance! Additionally, Penny Peng ’26 showcased incredible perseverance in a tight, five-game thriller, battling hard before narrowly losing 2-3. It was a significant milestone for several players, including Arcadia Tian ’27, Ari Salek ’29, Claudia Ripepi ’29, and Leilani Moyano ’26, who all competed in their first-ever squash matches, while returning players Arcadia Tian ’27 and Ella Wang ’27 held their own against tough opponents. This match served as a fantastic learning experience and an exciting way to jumpstart the season, giving the team plenty of positive momentum to build on as they move forward!
