Squash – Girls Varsity vs Loomis Chaffee School – Away
V Girls Squash
The KO Varsity Girls squash team had a tough loss against Loomis Chaffee for our last match before winter break. Despite the opponent coming in with a strong team throughout the ladder, there were some great performances from the Wyverns in the individual matches. Valerie Perkins ‘29 had a 5-game battle in the no. 2 spot, in which she moved her opponent around the court skillfully and produced powerful cross-courts that often went comfortably into the nick to win the point. In the no. 1 spot, Ava Marseglia ‘26 had many lengthy, complicated points with her opponent and used all 4 corners of the court effectively. In the no. 3 spot, captain Ilianna Brett’ 24 took her opponent to task and elevated the precision of her returns and deep shots to take the middle game to extra points. In her no. 7 match, Alyssa Tousignant ‘25 showed off her array of offensive shots and the great progress she’s made in her squash strategy in our opening weeks of practice. It was a hard loss, but the Wyverns will use lessons from the match as we build momentum coming back after break!
