Tennis – Boys Varsity vs Deerfield Academy – Away

KO traveled to Deerfield on a rainy Wednesday, and were able to play in their indoor facility. We got off to a good start in doubles, as the #1 team of Pratt Blair and Ciaran Concepcion played quite well against a talented Deerfield duo. KO was up 6-2 in the 8 game proset when the match was pulled because Deerfield had won at #2 and #3 doubles, thus securing the doubles point. KO’s #2 doubles (Captain Will Maclean and Amogh Peddapthla) played well in the early stages, but ultimately lost to a strong Deerfield combo, 8-3. Deerfield’s depth was simply too much for our #3 doubles (Saahit Gaddipati and Logan Barash) who gave a good effort in defeat. Unfortunately, our level of play tailed off in the singles, as Deerfield took charge and swept the singles in straight sets. With a weekend off, we will have a busy schedule next week with matches against Kent, Loomis, and Choate.
