We played a Friday late afternoon/evening match at home against a Frederick Gunn team that returned strong players along with adding some new players this year. Though the match ended up being a 7-0 victory, the score does not reflect just how competitive the match was. KO earned the doubles point with 8-3 wins at both #1 (Pratt Blair and Ciaran Concepcion) and #3 (Jacob Barash and Logan Barash). At #2, Frederick Gunn held a 5-4 lead when the match was pulled once the doubles point was secured. In singles, Concepcion won in two close sets at #1 (6-4, 6-4) and Pratt Blair won 6-1, 7-6 as the second set came down to a tiebreaker. KO’s Will Maclean and Saahit Gaddipati earned straight set victories at #3 and #4 respectively, while Jacob and Logan Barash at #5 and #6 each won 3rd set super tiebreakers after splitting sets. It was a hard earned victory for KO, and next up is Cheshire on our Alissi Spring Sports Day.
