We celebrated Senior Day by recognizing the efforts and leadership of our 4 seniors: Will Maclean, Jacob Barash, Aryan Dange, and Kiran Sekaran. They have represented KO with class throughout their years! We knew that Hotchkiss would be a tough opponent with a balanced lineup from top to bottom. We were close to earning the doubles point, as we won convincingly at #1 (Concepction and Blair) and KO’s Maclean and Reddy raced to an early 5-2 lead at #2 doubles. However, Hotchkiss stormed back to take the set 8-6, and Hotchkiss’s 8-2 win at #3 doubles vs. Jacob Barash and Saahit Gaddipati secured the doubles point. Singles proved to be a tall mountain to climb. KO’s Pratt Blair earned our only victory with a well played, straight sets win (7-6, 6-2). Ciaran Concepcion put up a great fight against their talented #1, ultimately falling 7-5, 6-2. The rest of the matches (#3-6) went Hotchkiss’ way with straight sets wins. That being said, the match was quite competitive with excellent tennis, but the opponent was too deep and talented to overcome. Next up is an away match at Taft.
