Varsity Girls Track & Field

The KO Wyverns brought home a victory (95-14) against the ASD track and field team on April, 18.

In the field events, the Wyverns had a number of strong performances. Highlights include Abby Fernald’s (‘21) first place finish in the javelin and second place finish in the discus, as well as Stacey Zhang’s (‘21) second place finish in the shotput and third place finishes in the javelin and discus.


The Wyverns remained dominant throughout the jumping events. A few notable performances include Amiya Young (‘18) taking first in the high jump, Sydni Jett (‘19) taking first in the long jump and Emma Ouellette (‘18) taking first in the triple jump, all helping to solidify a Wyvern victory.


Taking it to the track, KO continued their strong efforts with first place finishes in the 4×100 and 4×400 meter relays. There were a number of commanding individual performances as well, including a first and second place finish from Abby Fernald (‘21) and Julia Lantner (‘22) in the 1500, a win from Syndi Jett (‘19) in the 100m High Hurdles and a win in the open 400m from Erin Bowen (‘19). In the 100 meter dash, KO athletes Amiya Young (‘18), Sydni Jett (‘19) and Rinese Sterling (‘21) finished in the top 3 positions, respectively. Furthermore, Annelise Vaughn (‘21) took first place in the 800 meter run. In the 200 meter dash, KO also finished in the first three positions with strong runs from Ainsley Vaughn (‘20), CiCi Chagnon (‘21) and Amiya Young (‘18) respectively. In addition, Erin Bowen (‘19) crossed the finish line first for the Wyverns in the 300 meter Hurdles.


Overall, the Wyverns had a successful day amongst field, jumping, throwing and running events. We wish them well as they continue on with the rest of their season. Keep it up, Wyverns!
