The Kingswood Oxford Wyverns traveled to Reading, MA to take on the Austin Prep Cougars for the 2nd straight night game for the first time in KO football history!
The Scoring was early and often for the Wyverns: scoring 22 points in the first quarter alone. Chase Fountain ’23 took a pitch and reversed field outrunning multiple defenders for a 62 yard score on the 3rd play of the game to start the festivities. Next, Dom Dinuzzo ’24 connected with Rhandyn Bair ’24 on a 4th and goal from the 9 yard line for the 2nd score of the night. Bair made an incredible 1v1 play to get in the endzone! Nathan Bowes ’24 then connected with Dalton Grant on a broken play for a huge 55 yard TD. The Defense was dominant, allowing only 102 total yards for the game and amassing 14 tackles for a loss, 9 sacks and forcing 3 turnovers. Fountain ’23 had an incredible moment tackling the running back, ripped the ball out of his hands and returned it back for a defensive score! Evan Tyler ’25 also had a huge INT that stopped a driving Austin Prep team late in the first half. The Defensive Line of Julian Przecioska ’25, Chief Ebana ’24, Jaedan Curcio ’23, Geordan Robertson ’23 and Jacob Amburn ’23 were special all night amassing 10 tackles for a loss and 8 sacks as a group! Special teams was excellent as well with Bowes ’24 blocking a punt, and Grant ’23 returning for a TD. Janis Dauksts ’25 also came in and nailed a PAT! It was a great team win and a true 3 phase win! The Wyverns will travel next Saturday to Sheffield, MA to take on the Berkshire school next on 10/8 for a 2pm scheduled kickoff.
