Varsity Volleyball vs Wilbraham & Monson Academy – Home
The KO Varsity Volleyball team continued their win streak with a triumph over Wilbraham and Monson 3-0 at home.
The Wyverns had all aspects of our offense on display, and it was a great team effort that everyone contributed to. The first set got the team off to a strong start with co-captain Jill Plaut ‘23 floating phenomenal sets to our hitters in the front row. This allowed co-captain Keira Sullivan ‘23 to have her pick of any angle for her smashed kills, of which there were many. Lola Peck ‘26 had great timing for her hits from the middle that rocketed towards the sidelines. Quin Kearney ‘23 continued her solid serving this season by serving KO into the lead, and had an incredible one-handed save on defense in the middle of the game. Allie Arcaro ‘24 launched leaping serves from the service line to bring us to a 25-8 win for the first set. The Wyvern’s charged forward into the second set with out momentum from the first set. Jillian Alexander ‘24 was an unstoppable force in the middle, blocking and tipping like it’s her job, and Lila Klinzmann ‘27 was serving skillfully, like a veteran player. Eve Repp ‘23 was ready to hold steady blocks in the middle and save some difficult points with scrappy passing plays. The set ended with Ava Cashman ‘24 lasering her serves over the net and leaving the opponent struggling to find an answer, so the Wyverns took the set 25-12. The final set rounded out a match that showed the Wyverns’ consistency and offensive strengths. Alex Segal ‘24 was a steady force on serve receive and brought high passes into our offense’s waiting hands. Jhanvi Daddala ‘23 was ready for anything in the middle, making net decisions that turned the tides of important points. With everyone’s efforts, KO was able to narrowly maintain the lead and take the set 25-23. We look forward to our next game at home against Faith Christian Academy on 9/28!
