Volleyball – Girls Varsity vs Canterbury School – Home
Varsity Volleyball
The Girls’ Varsity Volleyball team defeated Canterbury at home on Wednesday, 3-0 (25-17, 25-6, 25-19).
Once again every player was part of the victory. The younger players on the team had notable performances: Quinn Kearney ‘ 23 had a few kills at right side; Lexi Vail ‘22 served strong and had some passes to set up KO’s offense, and Naomi Wong ‘22 attacked from the outside. Mackenzie Caruso ‘22 served well and had another great day of passing from the libero position, and Jillian Plaut’ 23 attacked from the middle and had a few key blocks. These contributions from the freshmen and sophomores, in addition to the leadership of the upperclassmen, most notably co-captains Sydney Smith ‘ 21 and Kathryn Westrick, ‘20, made for a solid overall performance.
KOVB is now 13-4, with the final match of the regular season on Saturday, against Macduffie, which is also Senior Day. We will celebrate 4 seniors: Audrey Decker, Trinity Hudson, Bella Leuschner, and Kathryn Westrick.
