Volleyball – Girls Varsity vs Ethel Walker School – Home

Varsity Volleyball

KOVB carried our momentum from last Saturday’s match against Wilbraham right into our second home match as we faced the Ethel Walker School this past Wednesday.

After a very brief rocky start where Ethel Walker took the lead by 8 points on some KO serving and passing errors, we settled in to a good rhythm of solid passing and great teamwork.  In her second game of the season as Setter, co-captain Isa Raymond did a nice job running our offense and helped seal the win with her strong serving which included a 7 point serving run in the third game of the match.  Sydney Smith led KO’s offense with a number of strong kills highlighted by some well-timed back row attacks that helped us keep hold of the momentum of the match. This was a match where every member of the team contributed, including new members of the team Audrey Decker as Middle Hitter, Trinity Hudson as Outside Hitter, Lindsay Bailey as Right Side Hitter, and Naomi Wong, as Middle Back passer.  Most notably, Trinity Hudson brought great competitive intensity to the Outside Hitter position with a couple of kills and 6 straight service points to finish up the third game of the match. KOVB is excited to keep things rolling as we head up to Suffield this coming Saturday for what should be an exciting and competitive match.
